Counterfeit goods are a massive problem, so anything Google does to combat it can only be a good thing. I'd be interested to see how they handle spurious complaints though. It’s a good move. I have done it multiple times and succeeded in getting websites removed from google who copied our content and google sent me confirmation as well after they removed the listings.
